I just want some average oxford type boots in dark brown. With a heel I can deal with for everyday, and apparently everyone else is looking for that also. Because they are really hard to find. Just when I find a pair they sell out. I figured that since these were pretty cheap I could do some alterations on these, and I was right. I have a narrow foot depending on the shoe I can wear either a 6.5 or 7. I went with a 7 and the fit is okay, these are for fall/winter so I need to try them out with socks. My foot is 9 1/4 inches in length, so I think I made the right choice. I cut the fringe off as close to the top as I could. I feel comfortable doing this because I have made dolls and bears etc. They look like sleek suede boots now, with cute little fringe. What ever material the fringe is made from its brown through out the material so you can do it and no one will know except if they read this. o~<` I wouldn't recommend doing it otherwise because sometimes the center is a lighter color. :)
