Lucchese Classics Women's M5711 Boot,Autumn Dry Leaf,8.5 B (M) US Review

In the last six years, I have bought (and sold) more Lucchese boots than I can remember. The majority of them have been 1883''s and maybe five pairs of Classics.
Never once was I not able to put their size 8.5 boot on, and, not be able to wear them out the door, and for the rest of the day. They have never needed to be broken in!
This was a great price for this boot, but they were only available in wide sizes.
I bought a 8.5 C, having just purchase, recently, one of the new "Since 1883, M series and, and surprisingly,and, finding them too tight.

The 8.5 in this style was too long. The exaggerated toe was comically exagerated.
In terms of width, this "wide" didn't seem any wider, than the standard 8.5 B, at all.
So, I returned them and got the 8C, which I got today.

They are so small! There is no way this boot can be one half size down from the 8.5C. I expected to have to fight to get through the ankle, because they are very fitted in that area, but there is absolutely no way the foot of this boot can be called wide. There is absolutely nothing WIDE about this boot. In fact it isn't even as wide as all of the B width Lucchese I have bought.

This does not bode well for the future.
There have been some big changes at Lucchese, and I'm afraid this could be the result of that. What you are not reading, anymore, when you read a description of the Lucchese boot craft, philosophy and fit, is that they are no longer being made in ElPaso, Texas. They are now being made in Mexico.

The inside leather lining is no longer that beautiful vanilla color, with the words Lucchese written on the inside in large script. Now, it is dark brown, and all you see printed inside is the size and the style number. In the tiniest letters you could possibly print, are the words: Made in Mexico.

They have discontinued their wildly popular 1883 line, which was slightly less expensive(not in all styles, granted),than the Classic line.

Now the line called "Since !883" is the priced higher than the old 1883's, and the Classic are higher than the old Classics line.

So, they are not being made in the United States anymore, but, they are MORE expensive.

These boots look absolutely gorgeous, and once you figure out what size you wear in them, and if you can still afford them, they will be great.From my experience with this model, I recommend ordering your normal size, but in wide width. Unless, like me , you don't mind spending three days wetting your boots, and trying to stretch them, as you wear them.

I think it's really sleazy of the company to not make any mention of change of country of origin, in the description they give to their retailers online.(and I'm not talking about discounters, like eBay) I mean very well known, Texas boot sellers like Cavenders, Sheplers, and Allen's Boots.

I don't think the company should be ashamed to tell their customers that their boots are being made in Mexico. That country has a great history of boot making. If they're switching to any country, that should be the one.

All I can say is, "What would Sam Lucchese say?"

I'm very happy with these boots. I bought them to keep at work to wear for my daily 30 minute lunch walk. They seem to run pretty much to size. I wear 7-1/2 to 8 and I ordered the 8s and they fit fine. The soles are pretty awesome and grip very well if there's a bit of cement or asphalt. I did find the soles just slightly slippery on packed down snow and ice so I wore them with slip-on studs . But that's just me, I want to walk fast without worrying about it - I am very careful when it comes to slippery surfaces and there's a lot of that in Alaska! These boots would be absolutely perfect for just running around in. Easy to slip on; very comfortable and they kept my feet toasty. I am even thinking of perhaps buying another pair to keep at home.

Naya Women's Quail Knee-High Boot,Bordo Multi,11 M US Review

I bought these in Bordo and Black and I love both pairs! I have a narrow-ish foot and a VERY narrow calf (11"!!!) and for years I've put off buying boots because nothing fits around my calves. This was complicated by the fact that I recently had a baby, so I really wanted wedge heels because they are so much easier to walk in. When I saw these online I was IN LOVE but of course I didn't know if they'd be as good / fit well in person.

Well, they are and they do! They are REALLY comfortable. The sole is rubber and even on the heel you can tell that it is. The boot has a lot of give and is just super easy to wear. Also, the heel height is higher than 3" if you measure straight up the back. More like 3 3/4". Which I'm glad of because I love high heels. These are definitely easier to walk in than most, too.

I did order narrows and they fit awesome. They're not, like, Stuart Weitzman narrow where you're like, "Oh my gosh, who has literal pencils for feet?!?!" but just on the more narrow side of medium, which is perfect for me. You know how everyone is shifting to wider shoes as people's feet get wider? Like Target shoes are a joke for my feet. As I said, these aren't like ridiculously narrow, but perfect for someone who can't wear today's medium but doesn't have a pencil foot.

Personally I would prefer if the shaft zipped were about 1" smaller. These are perfect for me with jeans but I would prefer them a bit slimmer for skirts and tights. Still, these fit me better than any other boots I've ever tried.

I prefer the Bordo over the black because black is necessary in a wardrobe but it's not that fun, especially when it comes to showing the beautiful grain of nice leather, which this is. I see no trouble with the dye job which I noticed a few people talking about on various sites where this has been reviewed. The bordo color is very 70s and VERY awesome.

If I had one *real* quibble it is that I would prefer that these boots be a little bit taller. They are just maybe an inch or two shorter than what would be ideal for me, 5'7" with long-ish legs. But this year I've discovered a new trick to make any boot the exact right length --- pair them with a matching leg warmer and pull it to the appropriate length. This helps if your boots are still a little big, too! Thrilled with these. <3

These look cute and are flattering. I do a lot of walking and the upper ripped within 2 months of owning them, but I got a refund.

If you're staying dry, such as walking on sidewalks, then these would be nice.

However, I live where the temps are in the 20s and I frequently walk through snow drifts and puddles and stand outdoors for a long time. These are not suitable for my needs. I don't recall ever getting wet in these boots, but my toes got cold often. It's not what I want from $140 boots.

They are versatile in that you can turn them over and shorten them to show the internal black wool or leave them up.
